Well, a lot of people decide this forum isn't right for them. We deviate from the norm in a lot of ways.

Dang, I didn't even had a chance to say Hi! Maybe we should give cookies in Welcome threads.

Thanks, Fran. That is so sweet. But I think two of me on this forum would lead to chaos. :swoon:

Btw, I am curious, what are the norms? I never thought there are any. And I think we are so open and multi oriented, that anyone could fit it.

Well the norm seems to be forums where members are not allowed to say negative things about any lesfic publisher or lesfic book, plus one or more of the following:
1. so heavily moderated that the forum is basically a Church of the Lesfic Author (insert Name here)
2. wholly unmoderated so that it's nothing but fights, arguments, misunderstandings, flounces, and overall bitchiness
3. badly laid out and impossible to follow (that would be most yahoo groups)
4. laid out exactly like this one, down to the exact subforums, and also loudly critical of this forum
5. consist of nothing but promo announcements from authors, none of which are read by anyone

#4: Really? Is it like an alternate universe with a reverse me over there?

By the way, I love the word flounce.

Doesn't that sound like a personal blog? With post first being examined and approved by the author of the blog?

In my kind of English, kissing ass forum?

I don't even know what that word means.

Ohh well, let's go back to our regular being us. I think we are going all good with that.

It's a word you don't see much (other than in lesfic).

flounce/flouns/
Verb:

Go or move in an exaggeratedly impatient or angry manner: "he stood up in a fury and flounced out".
Trimmed with a flounce or flounces.

Noun:

An exaggerated action, typically intended to express one's annoyance or impatience.
A wide ornamental strip of material gathered and sewn to a piece of fabric; a frill.

Oh, but I didn't realize it had an online definition (from the Urban Dictionary):
When a member of an online community announces they are leaving, usually after a protracted disagreement with other members of the community.

I'm curious about the #4 forum, too. I'm so out of things! I like Proof's idea of invading. Maybe under alternate names.
