Shawna's rejection forms were, I think, the blue form of death and the yellow form of promise (some faint praise included.) Or maybe I've got the colors mixed up. These categories were made up by the rejectomancy crew on the old Rumor Mill.

Of course Shawna also had the white form of acceptance, but I'm not sure i ever knew anyone who got that. Wait, I did know two people who one of those between them, since they co-wrote the story. And I vaguely knew a few others.

It's really sad that there's no magazine like Realms of Fantasy out there now. Its gradual death and diminution was painful to watch.

Some research folks might be interested in

Postby HRJ » 13 Nov 2012, 17:55

This seems as good a place to post this as any. This past weekend I presented a research paper on the topic "Sex Between Women in the Middle Ages and Renaissance" that's part of an ongoing series I'm doing on topics of use to writers (and other people) creating fictional lesbians in historic settings. I've posted a version of the paper in my LJ, here: http://hrj.livejournal.com/364350.html

Thanks for that. :-) Good read. Nice list of references, too, to check out.

I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in this sort of essay. Feel free to start a thread in the Craft Discussion for any links etc.

I wasn't quite sure of the logistics and etiquette of starting new threads. I'd be quite happy to start one up. Historic research is one of my "things" and I've put a lot of effort into collecting sources and references to help out with my historic fiction.

We have the Craft Discussion section:
viewforum.php?f=28

This is used the most in terms of providing resources and information and asking questions.

Then there is the LesBoWriMo section but it is only visible to registered members:
viewforum.php?f=65

And then there's the Discussion and Info section:
viewforum.php?f=23

That is more about discussing books themselves than for discussing the craft of writing.

Oh ... and I just thought folks might like to know, I've been offered a contract by Bella Books for my novel "Daughter of Mystery". (Just a smidge over one month response time. I'm stunned.)

Oh, well done! I've heard that Karin Kallmaker is a good editor to work with.
