American politics

Where we can mock that special American flavour of politics......

I expect that usually it'll be a mix of "funny things" and "could they be any stupider". Unfortunately, here's the first story I read today:

A cat belonging to an Arkansas Democratic campaign manager was found dead on Sunday night with the word "Liberal" spray-painted across its side, the campaign manager said.

I've not put in the gory details, but suffice to say that the asshole who was making this political statement did not humanely euthanase this cat.

Ah, this is more like it. A politician's unfortunate choice of words:

At one point during his outdoor rally at a building supply company, Romney was interrupted by protesters chanting, “We are the people.” He quickly dismissed them.

“No, actually, these are the people,” Romney shouted back. “These are the people; you’re the interrupters. We believe in the Constitution. We believe in the right to speech. And you believe in interrupting. Take a hike.”

People who don't support Romney at his rally are not....people. Golly!

Rick Santorum -- Mr anti-gay, anti-premarital sex, anti-abortion, anti-everything-remotely-related-to-sex, is trying to do a "raise a million bucks in three days" fundraiser. Here's the website: https://www.ricksantorum.com/unite/

He's calling it the "Conservatives Unite Moneybomb." Un-oh, someone didn't think through that acronym....

Mitt Romney's campaign is amending the financial disclosure form he filed in 2011 to acknowledge that a Romney trust earned interest income from a Swiss bank account, a detail that had been missing from the report.

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/romney-fa ... yL8GvmeEol

Just a minor detail, I'm sure......

Why, I ask you, would a fine upstanding patriotic American feel the need to sock his money away in a Swiss bank account?

No faith in the US Banking system?
He's a greedy son of a bitch who doesn't want to pay the fine US Gov't (that he wants to run) his due share of taxes?
He's just protecting his assets?

Just my thoughts...

F#@king coward to kill a defenseless animal! I think he should go the same way he killed that cat.

CUM, talk about all Freudian defense mechanisms taking shape in Rick Santorum's campaign. Btw, look at the faces of bliss in his children, not just the one crying.
