Not a big pope-watcher but yeah, what gets written about him suggests a stronger effort to live a simple life vs prior popes.

Rudolph Tanzi, one of my students, was named one of “the 100 Most Influential People” by Time Magazine. Rudy is a professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School. He is being honored because of his work with Alzheimer's Disease. He's dedicated his career to finding a cure. He was able to grow human brain cells that showed Alzheimer's in a Petri dish. There's a good article about him here. I'm so proud of him!

Awesome, Proof! That must be so utterly rewarding to see your efforts in his early education bear such fruit.

It definitely gives me a good feeling, Fran. Of course, I had nothing to do with his native brilliance or his natural inquisitiveness, but I know I didn't bore him and managed to keep him engaged. I hope he meets his goal in his Alzheimer's research.

You know, I'm very happy to be retired, but I still miss the excitement and pure joy of those wonderful discussions with my students. Most of the time, I'd throw out a question or a comment and just let them go at it. I really did enjoy my job! :)
