Yep, I'm in the eyeballs-changing-annually stage :(

Latest disaster: Bakey's Ducati conked out for no apparent reason, out in the middle of nowhere, where she had no cell phone coverage. Sheesh. We're running out of things to break at this rate!

Getting older certainly is expensive! But, the fading eyesight does level out after awhile. The good news is that these plastic lenses last a long time and don't get scratched up like the glass ones.

Meanwhile, here in the US, our president gave a more than hour-long ranting diatribe of a press conference. He belittled and berated the press throughout the meeting, and referred to his own election and how he won at least 4 times, and rambled like the madman that he is. I don't wish anyone ill, but it would be a service to our country and the world if he just dropped dead.

Yeah, I tried to read the transcript but just plain ran out of energy. He is awfully obsessed with Hillary, isn't he?

If he dropped dead, how would the US fare under Pence? In particular, how would women and GLBTQ fare?

That's the problem. Pence could be worse. But even Trump isn't the problem, in my opinion. I'm more worried about the puppeteers: Bannon, Miller, and Anton. Trump is happy to do their bidding as long as he gets the spotlight. :(

Sorry about the Ducati.

You're right—there is that little problem of Pence's religious view of gays, lesbians, abortion rights, women's rights, and anything else that doesn't fit with his religious belief. Have you noticed that no matter what he's talking about, he sounds so sanctimonious?

Yes, a lot of people are looking to see what happened in Sweden the other night. Even the Swedes are looking, but they can't find anything!

What a jackass he is.

That made me smile. . . and not much does these days.

I am so hopeful that the Democrats can get their act together and take back some of the House and Senate seats they frittered away.

I'm so sorry, Fran and Baker. We're sending you Scott Brown.

Yes, the Dems approve of this. It sends him as far away as physically possible without shooting him into space.

Oh, but I guess you heard already: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/artic ... d=11803361
