Which, I reckon, says a lot about self publishers who can promote their own works, and a lot about the role of Amazon in ebook sales.

A lot of people seem to be saying that the way to go is to self publish a trilogy, and offer the first book free. I reckon it's probably a good experiment for someone who has a trilogy sitting on their hard drive ::cough Bakey cough::

Just an off-hand impression, but don't most of these success stories involve vampire themes (and now zombie and other apocolyptic variations?) Maybe hot-button themes attract readers without as much promotional effort on the part of the author. People are out there doing searches for these themes. Of course, by the time any of us got a suitable book written, never mind a trilogy, the fads would have changed.

Bakey, in case you didn't clue in: the only way is for you to self publish your current fantasy trilogy and to self publish a zombie or vampire trilogy. The latter of which you've not written. Yet....

Get crackin', woman!

Waitaminnit, Zombies are Fran's field. Baker posts her fantasy trilogy, and Fran handles the zombie biology threesome.
