Duotrope now paid subscription

Postby ElaineB » 06 Jan 2013, 00:12

Anyone who's been subscribed to Duotrope, the database of markets and listing of calls for submission, has noticed it now requires a paid subscription.

What bugs me is how hard it was to find out how much it costs. Yes, it's in the announcement, but if you go right to Sign Up, you don't see it. It's $5 per month or $50 per year. That's pretty steep, considering I never got any real leads out of it, but it was useful for exploring various markets.

Yeah, I use it to scout markets intermittently, but not heavily enough to pay for a subscription. Since I generally write spec fic, I use Ralan's more.
