Romancezine.com and Making Love Stories

(Two different websites, but they appear to be the same publication?)

Editor:
Seeking: short stories
Genre: romance
Theme: "love between a committed or soon-to-be committed couple"
Length: 500-10,000 words
Payment: 5 cents per word

full info here: http://www.romancezine.com/submissions.html and http://www.makinglovestories.com/submissions.html

They don't say anything about GLBT, but most places that won't accept it specify that. I'm guessing they'd be open to GLBT romance -- so take that as a challenge and see if you can crack this market! Updating: Yes, they are open to GLBTQ. All stories regardless of pairing must "include love between a committed or soon to be committed couple".

They seem very new (both the magazine, and the owner to the publishing game) and will probably make mistakes along the way, and they may (IMO) run out of funding after a year or two since their pay scale and projected sales are ambitious, but -- five cents a word! A 8000 word story will earn ya $400. Go for it.

Yeah, a minor oopsie there. But they seem open to comments and willing to learn, which are points in their favour.

Realms of Fantasy is closing down (again). You may recall that they were purchased about a year ago by Damnation Books, whom most people felt didn't appear to have the experience, funding, or market penetration to keep Realms going. Sadly, most people were right. Damnation has announced that Realms is closing down for good.

It's great to see LC is online! We had a subscription for many years, and I have a soft spot for this publication, which hails from the city of my alma mater.
Also, they have a faboo logo:
