I think it would be great to have a collection of lesbian spec fic culled from sources lesbians may not normally access.

I have to confess that the idea that a male editor could freak some lesbians out blew my mind. Then I remembered there are some lesbians who don't even like the thought that some male person might be reading a lesbian story.

This might even be an incentive to me to try to write some short stories, if there is a possible annual anthology to aim for in getting short les spec-foc published.

Having a male editor would not deter me from buying a book with lesbian content in the slightest. I also quite like short stories. I don't usually enjoy horror or spec fic I'm afraid - but a male editor would be irrelevant to the buying process for me.

I hope this is a successful venture for you :) .

Even I had long thought of being a separatist and I'm not that old. Sorta.

But yes, I realized I never answered the question directly. No, I would have no trouble with lesbian writers and their lesbian short stories being in a lesbian anthology where the editor is a man. I never look at who edited it anyway, even now when I know what an anthology editor does.

If there was a lesbian guest editor and a foreword written by a lesbian -- or very lesbian-savvy text from Steve -- I wouldn't mind at all. Sounds like a good idea.

Well, I figure the editor picks the stories, so who that is matters.

Mary, that's my exact plan... I'll be more like a silent editor who helps with logistics.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Tying in with a lesbian co-editor should help with sales and presumed authenticity. That and a great price Point to boot!
