Might be good to update or remove that Welcome to the New LFF in the Welcome section, since this is now the second new LFF. I imagine someone new coming to the site might look there for information on how to join. Certainly you don't want to be dealing with all that spam. I suppose we could come up with a method for those interested in joining to contact a moderator? Or at this point we could become snobby and only current, active members can refer new one? I include the url on my Facebook account and usually mention it in my bios, so my vast fan base is bound to show up someday.
