Beta Reader(s) needed - Science Fiction

Postby PaulaO » 24 May 2012, 09:50

I am putting the final touches on To Sleep.

I am needing folk to read it over and tell me if it works, if it doesn't, or if anything else is wonky. I do not need editing or grammar checking (unless something jumps out and hits you over the head, then, yeah, I need to know!).

I have the goal of doing the chapter divisions and the last of the cat licking by Friday.

I also have the goal of submitting this before the GCLS con.

Much thanks.

You know, constant touching up. A change here, a change there.

P, if you want you can post your call here: viewtopic.php?f=68&t=3247

(Noting that "I also have the goal of submitting this before the GCLS con" doesn't really tell potential readers when you'd want their feedback by!)

Decided to just add to this thread vs starting another.

I finished the sequel to To Sleep. It is called To Dream.

To Dream starts about a year after the first one ends.

The possible problem is this sucker is huge. It kept growing, even after I purposely attacked it to cut it down. It is currently at over 144K words (wow, gross).

I'm looking for beta readers for this one, too. However, reading it may ruin your experience of the first one. So if you want the first one merely to read first, just ask. I am needing folk to read it over and tell me if it works, if it doesn't, or if anything else is wonky. I do not need editing or grammar checking (unless something jumps out and hits you over the head, then, yeah, I need to know!). In particular, I am looking for what others think could be cut out. Obviously, I think it all belongs but I am biased.

I'll be putting more info in the Beta Reader thread found here: viewtopic.php?f=68&t=3247
