Heiresses of Russ 2012

Postby Sacchi » 23 Jun 2012, 03:51

The Lethe Press anthology Heiresses of Russ 2012: the Year's Best Lesbian Speculative Fiction (edited by my alter-ego Connie Wilkins and Steve Berman) is complete at last, and will be available on October 15. I've posted the cover and table of contents on my Facebook and on my blog, http://sacchi-green.blogspot.com. One of these days I'll share my introduction to the book, to give you a fairly detailed look at what we've chosen.

It is indeed a lovely cover, but I'm not entirely happy that the effect is of women being bedraggled and woebegone, which is not true of the characters in any of the stories. Still, aesthetically, it was by far the best of the choices.

if any of you are interested in knowing more about the stories in Heiresses of Russ 2012, I just posted links to two reviews on my blog: sacchi-green.blogspot.com. They're both positive, although the second one takes a while to show it.

Awesome! Publisher's Weekly. Cool. And I appreciated the thought that went into the second review. I love when reviews are that detailed. Really gave me a sense of the stories and also that I might differ in opinion on some. And that's OK. I thought it showed its appreciation pretty quickly.

Anyway, I'm off to buy this and your collection!

There's now an alternative to buying an e-book of HoR from Amazon or B&N; here's a link to a PDF version:

And, possibly more important, I now have the PDF version to send at my discretion (or even whim) to folks who might even vaguely consider reviewing it, pretty much anywhere; Amazon, Goodreads, Live Journal, Library Thing, a blog, some brick wall in a dark alley, a cave wall under the Pyrenees--well, you get the picture.

Any takers?

Let me know if you'd like a PDF version as well, Elaine. I figure you're entitled if you have the whole big heavy book already.

I just posted my intro to the anthology on my blog, for anyone who wants some hints as to what's in it.

We would be buying that pdf version for the e-reader from you, but through Amazon, right? I hate Amazon for books, that's why I hesitate.
