2010 Finish line and Final Counts!

Postby PaulaO » 01 Dec 2010, 08:09

I am late, I know.

It is 9am in NZ and their NaNoWriMo for '10 is over.

The entire point to this 30 day exercise was to just do something. To write and to heck with the inner screaming editor. I'm sure she's about chewed through the duct tape by now.

Post your final counts and thoughts here!

1191 words in "Genesis"

183 words in "Ants"

So, no, not a "winner" this year. Not even close. And I'm okay with that. Really. I am.

:help: :suicide: :(

Final count is:

50,034 words for the Guardian sequel which still remains untitled.

50,312 words for the Lost Girl fanfiction, again untitled.

Both need some extensive editing. Guardian needs more words, the fanfiction needs less. I'll deal with them both after the holidays, I've two other manuscripts to deal with until then. Woot!

Congrats to everyone who participated. Whether you 'won' or not, it's a great thing to have tried. :cheer:

I think the mere fact you tried makes you all a winner. Some did better than other, but the fact is you tried, and that's more than I and many others attempted. Congrats to all of you.

7576 in Peace Keepers, my project for the year - but like I said - now I have something to work on next year in between grant proposals :)

Awesome job! Good luck on your grants/grant writing. I've found that waaaayyyy harder than doing NaNo.

But that means you wrote 5 flash fiction pieces, that's really good! :-) You always say you only write flash fiction, right???
