NaNo 2012!

Postby PaulaO » 20 Oct 2012, 07:29

It snucked up on me this year. Again.

Mid October and NaNoWriMo is just a 12 days away.

Who is doing it this year?

I am determined to finish this go 'round. No clue what it will be, though. Of course. Why come up with something this early and actually plan for it?

I'm already in the middle of a book I'm pretty excited about, so I probably will just work on that instead but maybe use NaNoWriMo to give me motivation.

Works for me! On Nov. 1st, just make a note of your word count and go from there.

I've been reading some of the stories I started but never finished, trying to get some spark of an idea going.

I'm going to try again. I have two ideas kicking around - one is kinda dark and creepy, and one is leaning towards sci fi. So it comes down to exploring the darkness in some people, or playing around with magik and gods. Tough choice.

Do both.

NaNoWriMo is about turning the internal editor off.

Because I'm the queen of changing direction mid sentence, I likely will end up attempting to do both, along with some other random idea lol . One year I hit a wall and couldn't think of a complete sentence for days, and when I did, a story about a girl taking bus ride to college fell out of my head. In the middle of a murder investigation. After she got to school and found her dorm, the murder resumed.

So, yeah. I've actually been working on both outlines.

Well, NaNo is almost here! Storm Sandy or not, here we go!

Even if you don't think you can reach the goal of 50K, it is still a good chance to push your limits, turn off the internal editor, and just write. Right?
